I want to paint my bathroom walls?

They had wallpaper which I stripped off. The paint store says I need to remove the leftover glue with a solvent, rinse the walls, prime them with an oil base and then paint with a latex. This seems like a lot of work. Can't I just do a light sanding and give 2 coats of latex?I want to paint my bathroom walls?
No. Wash that paste off. If you do not the paint will not adhere. I just finished mine and tried sanding put bits of the paste still clung to the wall. I used warm water and vinegar. I primed with a latex primer and then applied a coat of my preferred color.I want to paint my bathroom walls?
Sorry, but I would definitely do what the paint store suggested you do. Follow their advise so you get it done right the first time. They are the experts in this field. So, after this experience, will you be doing any wallpapering soon? ( :

Good luck. Sounds like a pain.
It will peel off in a month. Do it right. The guy gave you correct advice.
