I'm redecorating my kitchen - the current wall covering is 10 year old paint, but I did it in sponged terracotta glaze which, although now hideously unfashionable (hence the redecorating), has proved to be a really sturdy scrubbable wallcovering.
I've chosen my lovely new cream colour, but do I get it in satin, or is it worth paying the extra for Kitchen %26amp; Bathroom? Is ';Kitchen and Bathroom'; paint any good?
First things first; wash all your paint surface area with Mangers Sugar Soap, inexpensive at any hardware store. Make sure you wear your Marigold gloves because your hands will dry out!
If you want to get the full low down on Kitchen%26amp; Bathroom painting etc go to website ';www.whiteknightpaints.com.au/product/vi鈥?br>
From that you will be able to draw sound conclusions because you have a lot of varying answers here. Whatever your decision always remember that the most important part of painting/re-decoration is 'sound preparation'.
As regards cost, any job worth doing is worth doing WELL and bearing in mind the time and effort involved it's always better to spend a few extra pennies and get a good result. Is ';Kitchen and Bathroom'; paint any good?
I would pay the extra for the kitchen and bathroom stuff. It wipes well and doesn't go mouldy like regular paint.
kitchen and bathroom paint is very good it is designed for steam and it is easy washed
No it doesn't repell the condensation.
the paint has a chemical mixed in to help prevent mould as lon as you check out the cems. involved you should be able to make a better judgement
Pay the extra. The constant cycle of condensation and drying seems to encourage mould. Kitchen %26amp; Bathroom paint resists that.
If you like the ability to scrub clean these areas, then yes. Not sure what the make up of your faux stucco is, but the kitchen and bathroom, or more high sheen paints are able to repel crud better and therefore scrub easier.
Worth the extra few dollars.
I have also recently refurbished a flat. My contractor said to definitely use either the Kitchen %26amp; Bathroom paint or an equivalent. I loved colours made by Crown in Eggshell Range. My contractor said it would have worked fine, and so it did. It's a lovely effect, not gloss not matt, something in-between, and it has been working great for kitchen and bathroom.
The Crown Kitchen %26amp; Bathroom Range is worth every penny, it's easy to use, gives a great finish, and is good value. 2.5 Litres for 拢16.99 + p%26amp;p from www.coopersdirect.com will cover up to 32 square metres.
It's great and worth the money. I have 3 boys so I end up with tooth paste from one end of my bathroom to another, it's wipes right up.
Pay the extra - definitely worth it especially for the kitchen!
Try it, its good, the extra cost is minimal, compared to the cost of your time painting.
Though some painter / decorators would say its the same as a silk finish emulsion paint. but as i said its minimal extra cost so really not worth worrying about.
I used the Kitchen and bathroom stuff, it stops it from going funny caused be the steam etc. It is worth it i would say.
iv found that any gloss paint is easy wipeable and doesnt damage when wet or anything! whereas matt tends to come off! iv got just a basic gloss paint in my kitchen and in my old house i had the same in the bathroom - never had a problem!
