Right now I don't really have a theme in my house. We have italian paintings hanging up but it's not me at all. I'd rather do a southwestern theme possibly. But besides all that, I love warm colors.
My kitchen is red - pretty bright red too. Right now my living room is off-white. So is the small half bath in there. I'd like to do something fun with the bathroom, maybe paint a pattern or texture in there. What colors should I paint the living room and bathroom? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!What color should I paint my bathroom %26amp; living room?
I've seen a lot of cool living rooms (including my own) that are painted a warm brown. It's earthy and homey. Pick a shade that compliments your red kitchen. I'd use a bold blue in the bathroom. I've used bold colors in my house a lot over the years and never regretted it. So many people comment on how much they like it. It takes guts, but don't worry about it. You can always paint over it. Paint is the cheapest way to make a huge statement with your house. Take dares. What color should I paint my bathroom %26amp; living room?
i think you should go to the paint store ( or home depot or whatever) and see what colors you immediately vibe to. i once chose LIME GREEN for my bedroom. way out of character for me but i never regretted it. it woke me up so cheery in the morning. stay away froms blues of any kind. they either want ';country'; or are too old lady or something.i like warm , too. corals are nice and peaches. you can easily decorate any ';theme'; around them, PLUS they add a pretty glow to a woman's complextion.
i think the bathroom should be painted light blue cuz the bathroom has to do with water
and the bedroom should be colored a light beige cuz light beige is a warm and relaxing color
An earth tone shade of a brown would look nice, like a brownish orange.
A yellow bathroom might be fun, in keeping with the sunny desert theme. Orange and yellow towels could be used to decorate and a southwestern style mat and accessories could be put up. A cactus perhaps in the corner?
Purple in living room, thow out paintings, and green in bathroom, I am sure your furniture matches.
I would paint it either a lime green - or some autumn type colors (maroon/forest green/yellowish).
The living room I would paint a warm tan. It looks really good with red. For the bathroom maybe go a navy blue with white. Or do black and white stripes... Stripes going downward are really pretty
mmmmm an african theme. You can get lots of cute little statues that are just ADORABLE! I'd say paint the walls beige, then get a darker kind of tan colour, and kind of swipe it all over to look like african grass. You can get shelves, bathtowel holders and sink holders (toothbrush holder, soap holder) that match the tan, or go really dark brown for a nice effect. Look for a really cool bath curtain, and try to get matching curtains (if you have a window ) The toilet seat can be a nice brown suede. This theme can really pull the house together and guests will ask who the designer is.
Get a light brown, like brown sugar color or light golden brown/tan. It would look really good. Just go to the paint store and get some color swatches, and just put them next to the red and see if you like how it looks.
You want both rooms to flow well together. I think Robins egg blue would be a good bathroom color, but thats just me.
Go to a paint store and get some warm colors. The first room you should paint is your kitchen. Take into consideration your countertop and cupboards. Maybe a sage green? Then continue with warm hues of beige-tan-taupe-golden- etc. The paint store will help. Do your big rooms first and then the smaller ones like the bathroom. That sounds like a fun project. Good luck.
I think you might like to try a nice blue /green for the bathroom, and a light mint green for the living room. I would also suggest you watch some programs on HGTV. They give wonderful suggestions on paint techniques, and other useful information. Good Luck!!!
here's the rundown of my mom's house: when we moved in all the rooms were white with grey-blue trim. Now the laundry room is lilac purple with white trim, the kitchen is sea green with white trim, the dining room has a sponge pattern in pink, white, gold and olive green around the lower half and the top half is white. The living room is light yellow with a green trim. The trim used to be royal blue but she painted it recently...so far neither of the bedrooms has been painted, and neither has the bathroom...we usually paint as a means of catharsis...the kitchen and laundry room were break-ups after long relationships, the living room was after a death, and the dining room was just because...good luck.
