What will happen if i paint my bathroom in normal latex wall paint.?

i have lots of cans of paint from the kids rooms and in colors we like, Our bathroom really needs a serious renovation can anyone please tell me what would happen if we use this paint instead of buying new bathroom paint. What will happen if i paint my bathroom in normal latex wall paint.?
bathroom is latex paint its a semigloss or gloss. this enamel allows for a better gaurd against moisture build up and mildew. primer the walls and with a kilz or coverstain primer and go for it. if you use anything less than semigloss you will need to repaint sooner than the standard 5-7 years. What will happen if i paint my bathroom in normal latex wall paint.?
Don't do it!!!! Last summer I did because I already had the paint and now my walls are gross. The paint is chipping and every time you take a shower it makes the walls look like they're swaeting. I'm probablly going to have to start from scratch on them when I get a chance to fix it.
It would be fine, I see no reason for it not to be. Go for it.........xx
Um nothing, That is what our bathroom is done in. We have changed the color 4 times in ten years. Hope this helps
Nothing.
it will be a normal painted CR..........................
Semi-gloss or gloss paint is usually recommended for bathrooms because they are more resistant to moisture and water than flat, satin, and eggshell finishes.
...it will work just fine...but first make sure the surface of the walls are clean and go for it...
So-called ';kitchen and bath'; paint simply has mold inhibitors. I almost think you could make your own by adding borate to the paint or perhaps some white vinegar or a splash of tea tree oil.

I had been meaning to do a mold test using paints with these things added but never got around to it.

Vinegar is dilute acetic acid which kills most mold. Borate is a white powder which also kills mold, as does tea tree oil. If these things are mixed with paint, then theoretically when the mold plant sends its roots down into the surface it will encounter these substances and die.
