What color should I paint my bathroom?

The toilet and sink are sky blue and I have a painting of Starry Night by Van Gogh to hang in there. Would a dark brown work? Any suggestions?What color should I paint my bathroom?
i'd say blue like in the painting, or maybe that shade of yellow. brown would look ugly and dark. gomen, my opinion, but yeah. lol. ^_^

I think ';tower tan'; (# 7704) might be a great choice.
Stay away from dark colors. Generally speaking, if you get dressed in the bathroom, you want good lighting. Since dark colors don't reflect lighting as well, you'll have a tougher time seeing.





If you must stay away from white, use pastels or other ';soft'; colors.





I would also strongly recommend an oil based paint. It is a little more work but it doesn't mildew as easily as a water based paint product.
no! A dark brown will make the bathroom look like poop! You don't want to do that. I think a dark or midnight blue will look good to go with the Van Gogh painting. Also maybe you can paint stars and/or swirls on your selling to make it feel like your actually there in the painting! Also when you buy your paint, go to home depot and get the bear paint. Bear paint is great quality paint! I have painted all of the rooms in my house with Bear paint and it looks great when its dry! I suggest that you get 2 gallons when you paint your bathroom. Yes, brown would work, but more of a tobacco brown instead of dark brown. Look at the swirls in the middle of the painting where there's more white and you'll see just a hint of brown that looks like tobacco brown.

It depends on the size of your bathroom. A dark brown would look nice but it might make it look a little small. I suggest a tan color for the walls with dark brown accents.
An avocado green..you can compliment it with many varieties of colors..like golds,earth tones, yellow or bronzes..
I just painted mine yellow and it is really pretty.It makes the bathroom look bright and bigger.
Definitely don't paint it dark brown it will make the room look smaller, darker and just plain ugly...but any other bright color will do
white or blue. =)
